Delirious Doubles

In our ongoing effort to publish whatever the hell we feel like, we give you Delirious Doubles. Some of you may be old enough to remember the Ace Doubles, well, this is something like that. We will be pairing two stories together from two different authors and publishing them together. The theme for the current collection will be DYSTOPIAS. We want science fiction stories of at least 5,000 words that are set in a dystopia. We are not looking for stories that are direct commentaries on the state of our current world, but your stories can be set on a future Earth. They can also be set elsewhere. Although the idea of the dystopia is important. We are most interested in a good story with believable characters. Good writing is what will give you one of the two spots that are available in this Double. 

We will be open to submissions for the rest of the year. Stories that are submitted will get a pass or hold within one month. Early next year we will go through the hold stories and pick the two that will be included in this Double.

PAYMENT: Payment will be on publication for first rights. Each story accepted will receive $30, but wait, there's more! This is a small press publication, so we don't expect to sell 500 copies, but if we are able to sell 500 copies (print and e-book combined, but not including authors' copies), we will pay each author an additional $30. Payment will be made by PayPal, so you must have a valid PayPal address. Each author will also receive two contributor's copies, which will be distributed by Amazon, so you must have a valid address that Amazon can ship to. 

We are looking for first rights, so no reprints. We also do not want to see stories set in other people's universes. Other than that, we want you to entertain us. It's always a good idea to read some of the publications that we've released in the past to get some sense of what we're looking for.

Stories should be submitted as Word or RTF attachments to editor (at) nomadicdeliriumpress (dot) com. Each submission should have the subject line "Delirious Doubles Submission:"

All works must be completely original. We will not accept AI generated work or AI assisted work. If you submit this to us, your work will be returned unread, and we may even blackball you from all future NDP publications. AI has no place in writing!

In the past, we published four magazines, and now that we're looking to start publishing zines again, we were curious as to what magazine our readers and writers would most like to see us bring back. Here are descriptions of the zines, and we'd love to hear which one you'd like to see, and if you'd like, you can even tell us why...

The Fifth Di... was a science fiction magazine. It wasn't themed, just science fiction.

The Martian Wave was a science fiction magazine that focused on space exploration, especially the exploration of our solar system.

Mundanities was a science fiction zine that focused on mundane science fiction.

Environmental Holocaust was a science fiction that featured stories that looked at the devastating effects of global climate change.

The Complete Ephemeris 1.0 in print...sort of

When we released The Complete Ephemeris 1.0 Tome as an e-book, many people asked why we didn’t release it in print. The simple answer is that the book was over 1200 pages, and almost a quarter of a million words…not something that we could print very easily.
Now, we’ve released the Tome as two separate books. The Complete Ephemeris 1.0 Game Master’s Guide and The Complete Ephemeris 1.0 Player’s Guide. Together, these two tomes contain every rulebook and supplement that was ever released for the Ephemeris 1.0 game.
The only book not included is The Ephemeris Encyclopedia Galactica, which was too large to include in either volume, and is still available as an individual title.
