The extra payments on some sites

So what happens to that money if you decide to pay extra? Well, we keep part of it, but the rest goes to the creators based on the royalties we're paying. Right now, we generally pay 40% of the sale price in royalties to the author, so if you pay an extra dollar, they make an extra 40 cents. It's not much, but to them, and to us, every penny helps!
